les papas - potato portraits
ginou choueiri has chosen the potato to portray human faces because of the many striking parallels. Not only is their skin porous like ours, but their skin texture and color is very similar, and like us, they come in different sizes, shapes and forms. Potatoes grow, live, and then decay, mirroring the ephemeral existence and fragility of our own human nature. bizarre, but i like! see the rest here.

the glue society's ad
this ad for the australian tv show the glue society initially looks like a government health warning, but when you read the small print, one of the pieces of advice, alongside 'wear one of those little blue face masks', is to 'watch The Chaser's War on Everything'. its quite a funny and optimistic way of looking at the flu.
